Tom has spent his career building and investing in successful fintech companies. Most recently, he was Co-Founder, CGO and CFO of TradeKing, an online broker and digital wealth manager based in the U.S. Tom oversaw the growth and eventual sale of TradeKing in 2016 to Ally Financial (NYSE: ALLY), a Fortune 200 company and leading digital bank. He remained with Ally for 3 years to lead the integration of TradeKing into Ally Bank as an independent operating subsidiary and re-brand the company as Ally Invest.

Prior to TradeKing, Tom was a Co-Founder and Partner of Baird Venture Partners (BVP), a venture capital firm based in Chicago focused on early-stage technology companies. Prior to BVP, Tom was a Vice President with Robert W. Baird & Company’s investment banking group where he managed numerous IPOs and M&A transactions for Technology and Business Services clients. Tom began his career at Morningstar, Inc., a long-time leader in the fintech space, where he ran Morningstar’s flagship product, Morningstar Mutual Funds.

Tom earned an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, an M.A. from Michigan State University and B.A. from the University of Notre Dame.
